LOCKED 45!

Another 'locked groove' experiment. This time I used four separate 45rpm records including Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson's Say Say Say, Louis Armstrong's Hello Dolly, The Everly Brothers' Cathy's Clown, and Joe Tex's I Gotcha. What a wonderful breakbeat I found there in the very last groove of Hello Dolly! It's the driving force of this goofy little track. Enjoy.

LIFTED

For those of you who can barely stand on your feet at the end of the day. Reverse gravity.

TERMINAL

Here's another inky humanoid. This one landed and is festering a bit. I'll get some more of these out there. I have to perfect some techniques before I can make one as naturally as I made my space dust baby.

Twin confetti gravity cyclones. This is work in progress. As it is now, it doesn't have the spirit this one had. Right?

A BABY BORN

The first thing I did this morning was turn on my television just as 2001: A Space Odyssey was beginning. I watched the whole thing. Later I discussed transcendental meditation with my friend. Even later this big guy was born. He appears to be falling out of the stardust left over from earlier today.

SHIFT

Some obvious changes made here. No black outlines at all. Continuing with the "confetti" bits, and focusing all of the missing dark line work up into that top part. Okay, so the other things looked like vaginas and now this is a penis right? Get your mind out of the gutter! (but yeah...)

No biggie...
I drew this last night in the house drawing journal. This time I mimicked the brush lines with a micron pen. I've been adding those straight "confetti" lines to the series and it seems to fit for some reason...

NUMBER 6

The details from yesterday have been completed into the form below. This one really seems to straddle the line between the big 18x24 piece and the original 'Thing'. I'm slowly beginning to approve of the end result again...

Here's an ink thing on some wonderful 18x24 watercolor block. I think I'm going to end up making many of these. They have become very meditative and they are great chances to freely make use of color.

PRACTICING MY LINES

I made this to replace a drawing I have in a frame over my bed; however, I cut the mat for an 8x10 frame instead of 9x12. Then I went ahead and screwed up some of the lines in the picture anyway. I'll make another one I guess. And cut another mat...
