PERMANENT LANGUAGE

Lately I've been fascinated with the idea of art being Language; more importantly, an individual artist's style being characterized as a language. When an idea is being communicated either abstractly or literally in the arts, there should be present an almost tangible alien quality that makes the piece solely the creator's. "Almost" is important, because there should also be present something familiar to prod the observer to learn the language or even convince the observer that they may have already known the language in a previous life, so to speak.
This is a new tattoo I gave myself today. I see these shapes as individual artifacts that have been collected and set up in this order in which they are. Objects, symbols, significant and insignificant artifacts to be studied ever so curiously.

WELL OF KNOWLEDGE

Woah! took me long enough, but this result is positive and good. I had to take a step back and get on the right track.

HAYBURNER VIDEO

Today I got a LOT of arting done after a couple of days on hiatus from AlmostNaught. In addition to some inking (I'll post the artwork later today (Monday)) my friend Scott helped me make a music video for my song Hayburner (my songs available to buy here! Scott's incredible music available here.) Thanks Scott for having the patience to work with my vision!

This chubby cheeked guy and his unfinished friend were drawn in Rittenhouse Park today on an art mission with my friend Kate!




EW! Then I had to go and add crap to this and ruin it. Meh... They can't all be winners. The chubby-cheeked guy will make a comeback in another piece. Maybe the other guy will too; just needs a little work.

BLACK ARM

This guy is holding a bell jar or something. No confetti's on here just yet. I stopped working on this one multiple times and had to keep convincing myself that it was worth my time to complete. What do you think?
